Laser & IPL

Sun damage, redness, and uneven tone — treated with light, matched carefully to your skin. Charleston sun is our most reliable referral source.

Per-session pricing depends on the area and the concern; sun-damage and redness work is usually planned as two to four sessions. Exact quote at your consultation, in writing.

The honest version

Twenty years of Lowcountry summers leave a signature: brown spots across the cheekbones, a flush that no longer fades, tone that reads five years older than your skin actually is. Light-based treatments are the right tool for exactly this — IPL for pigment and redness, laser for more targeted correction.

The machine matters less than the person setting it. Energy, filters, and pass counts are chosen for your skin specifically — your tone, your history, your medications — which is why every laser client here starts with a consultation and a test spot when appropriate. Aggressive settings make dramatic before-and-afters and burned clients. We choose the settings that make quiet, permanent-looking corrections instead.

Who it's for

  • Sun spots and freckling across cheeks, nose, chest, and hands
  • Persistent redness and visible capillaries, including early rosacea
  • Blotchy, uneven tone that concealer can't quite average out
  • Skin that looks weathered beyond its years — the classic boater-and-beach pattern we see constantly here

What's included

  • Skin-type assessment and full sun-exposure history before any light touches your face
  • A test spot at the consultation when your skin type calls for caution
  • Medical-grade IPL and laser platforms, maintained and calibrated on schedule
  • A written series plan — most pigment work is two to four sessions, four weeks apart
  • SPF guidance you can actually follow, because the results only hold if you protect them
  • Direct access to us for any post-treatment question, any day we are open

What it can't do

Every treatment has limits. Here are this one's.

IPL cannot safely treat every skin tone — deeper skin types carry real pigment risk with this technology, and if that is you, we will recommend a different path rather than gamble with your face. Light also cannot remove raised moles or medical lesions (see a dermatologist, and we will happily refer you), and no laser undoes future sun exposure. If you plan to keep tanning, save your money — we mean that kindly.

Laser & IPL questions

It feels like a rubber-band snap with a flash of warmth, over in milliseconds per pulse. A full face takes about twenty minutes. Most clients rate it easier than they feared; nobody has ever asked us to stop.

Treated pigment darkens over a day or two — we call it the coffee-grounds stage — then flakes away over about a week. That temporary darkening is the treatment working, not a burn, and we will show you photos at your consultation so nothing surprises you.

October through April, honestly. Your skin should not be tanned when treated, and you must be diligent about SPF afterward. Off-season laser work is one of the worst-kept secrets in Charleston skincare.
